How to Use Gradient Tool in Photoshop?

Gradient Tool can be used for various purposes. I use it to merge two pics most of the time. However, I can try and do some different with this tool. First we'll try to create a web banner / or Let's create a Facebook Cover.

• Open Photoshop
• Choose a Picture
• Create a new 6x2.5 Image.
• Drag image to your new image file using the move tool.
• I have chosen my own picture.

• Here you see, this is how it looks when you place a pic in canvas.
• Now select the Gradient Tool or press G.

• You will see the following options of Gradient Tool

• Select the 2nd option with the foreground color closer to your image.

• Now drag the cursor as show in the picture below

• This is what you will get after doing the above.

• Now u can apply different effects to this as well.
