Parsa Fatima, a M.F.A multimedia student and a Lahore based hobbyist photographer. She recently
completed B.F.A (graphic design) with digital illustrations as her major. But
apart from her interest in digital painting she is addicted to digital
photography.
It was in her bachelors first year
when she first held a camera. They were taught photography as a minor and they had to
practice the art in their Graphics Degree. She learned photography online and to
which she has to give credit her online friend and teacher (Mr. Photomatic) Naveed Nawaz
(An Islamabad based photographer) for teaching her all that she knows about
photography. Photography has always intrigued her, the art to show people how
you saw things and for her that was to capture the world of flora and fauna.
Macro photography is her most favorite style of photography as compared to other
nature photography styles.
Her first accomplishment in
photography was in 2013 Pakistan Photography Association Exhibition when one of
her Macro Spider shot got selected to be displayed along with the works of many
other nationwide photographers.
She is using basic DSLR Canon EOS
1000D, her macro photography is done by using a simple reverse lens technique
and due to the lack of equipment the technique is used with hand held reverse
lens. She doesn't do much wedding photography but has done a few just to prove to
herself that she can do weddings too if she want to. She has also done event photography
for Lahore College for Women University along with the university prospectus
2014.
She is of the view that photography
is an art that should be taken seriously and learned just as equally by all.
