Rectangular Marquee Tool is also very useful tool to play with in Photoshop. It can do many interesting effects to your designing. I mostly use it while designing an album to create border in albums etc. Today I will show you how it can give different effects to your picture.
- First open Photoshop, Obviously.
- Open any image of your choice,
- I have selected the following picture.
- Now select Rectangular Marquee Tool.
- Now, make a rectangular on the Image.
- Now press Ctrl+Shift+I to inverse the selection.
- The apply auto-level or open level dialogue box to give some effect to the picture.
- After applying the Levels, my picture came out as can be seen below-
- As you can see the change of color between the selected area is changed.
- Now, again inverse the selection (Ctrol+shift+I).
- Now press Ctrl+U top open Hue/Saturation dialogue box.
- Set the options as under to make it Black&White:-
- It is done.
- Now Let's proceed further.
- Create a new layer
- Select the new layer and then change the foreground color.
- You must be thinking what I have made. It is just the foreground color I have set.
- Now Select the New Layer, Click on Edit>>>Stroke.
- Choose the Width according to your choice.
- Choose Color and then Press Ok.
- As you can see the green border has been appeared around the red rectangular.
- Now Choose Magic wand Tool.
- Click in the Red Area. Make sure the New layer is selected.
- After applying the Wand Tool selection. Simply press Delete button.
- Press Ctrl+D to deselect the Selection and Voila, You'll have the desired picture.
- Apply some other effects to the pictures as per your liking and requirement.
